Brooke Canzoneri — is a middle child of seven, raised in a loud and loving family where creativity ran deep. Her earliest memories of art involve doodling all over schoolwork and unfinished quizzes (which her mom still has tucked away). Her passion for creating is owed to her Grammie, whose beautiful paintings and murals filled her home and sparked something in her early on.

As a teenager Brookes mom let her paint her own bedroom, she spent hours drawing with Sharpies and painting across every inch — it felt like freedom. That energy stayed with her. In 2016, she moved to Miami with her older sister, who never missed a chance to brag about her art. That constant support from her and the rest of the family gave her the confidence to pursue something more with it.

At 19, she got her first professional tattoo in Miami — “credere,” meaning “believe” in Italian — a sibling piece they all share. She fell in love with the vibe of the tattoo world and thought, how amazing would it be to actually work in this environment? Life had some unexpected turns, including a reset moment that gave her the clarity she needed.

In 2019, she started an apprenticeship and dove headfirst into learning everything she could — from studio training to YouTube deep-dives. After some time working at a shop on the west side of Buffalo, Brooke started getting tattooed at Sink or Swim. She instantly connected with Shannon and Keith, and knew she wanted to be part of what they’d built. When Shannon messaged her out of the blue to join the team, she packed up and started immediately.

Keith gave her a fresh mini-apprenticeship when she arrived. She started out with traditional styles but gradually found her niche through black and grey, dot work, and eventually fine line tattooing — where her passion and precision truly shine.. she says being at Sink or Swim has been a huge blessing. Constantly inspired by the people she works with and the clients she meets, pushing herself to grow and become a better artist than the day before.
