krista reid
With over 11 years of tattooing experience, Krista Reid has seen a wide range of tattoo trends in the industry. Her story began much earlier. It was guided by a childhood love of her grandfather's American traditional tattoos from his time in the Coast Guard. She drew, painted, and colored anything she could get her hands on until her 18th birthday.
Apprenticing from the age of 18, Krista's journey was anything but traditional. After two apprenticeships, and a whole lot of self teaching and growth, she went on hiatus to pursue higher education to study psychology and health studies. Although she never finished her degrees, Krista has found an application for much of her knowledge in tattooing, and interacting with clients. It has helped her to understand people, their ideas, and what they might be looking for in the tattoo design. To her, that alone is worth the experience. In 2016 she was offered a position as a junior artist and the rest was history. Suddenly it seemed like the only thing that was standing in the way of her tattoo dreams was a little life experience and a whole lot of dedication.
Specializing in colorful and high contrast tattoos, Krista’s designs range in styles from Neo traditional to illustrative. She often draws her inspiration from nature, taking reference photos in her own rose garden.
Outside of the shop, Krista is an avid traveler, both nationally and internationally, in her pursuit of continuous professional growth via guest spots, her passion for live music, and love of learning about new places and people. At each place she travels, Krista makes it a point to find and purchase a rare book to add to her collection. When she’s not driving to a new place, Krista is mother to a 5 year old tornado, 2 adorable pibbles, and 2 cats who believe she is their servant. You can find her camping in the summer, cozy with a book in the winter, or sometimes hiking up a mountain, but wherever she is, she’s guaranteed to be doing something creative.
