AK is living proof that time and milestones are not at all linear and takes the phrase, “ life isn’t a race”, very seriously. With a teeming zest for life, AK has always been up for trying anything twice, just in case they mess it up the first time. It’s never too late to make your dreams come true. 

AK was raised in the beautiful and quiet valley of Gowanda, NY. With a great hunger for all things creative, AK has been drawing working on their art since they were old enough to hold a pencil. They draw constantly and consistently to this day. Growing up, they would draw through lectures in class (and get in trouble rightfully), long car rides, family events, and of course during their free time at home. Eventually feeling stifled and sequestered, they moved to the “big city”, Buffalo, NY to pursue education in animation and then later, illustration before they eventually dropped out. In order to make ends meet, AK took a job with the state to care for people with developmental disabilities and has worked this job for nine years. Briefly looking into plumbing as an alternative career, AK decided to follow their long term dreams of becoming a tattoo artist. It was a big risk, but nothing gained, nothing lost. After an intense year long search, AK finally landed in their new home at Sink or Swim Tattoo and Piercing in March of 2025. 

AK continues to explore and learn how best to encompass their own personal style into each and every tattoo. They have a deep admiration for American traditional and are known to incorporate elements of Neo traditional and illustrative elements to create beautiful and unique designs. AK thrives to create bold and beautiful designs that will last a lifetime while also being known for precise execution on fine and delicate designs as well. They are constantly looking at other artist’s work to build inspiration and continue their education. AK prides themself on creating a comfortable and collaborative experience within the studio environment. They are always happy to listen and ensure you are satisfied with your new tattoo. They continue to create a professional, yet comfortable environment for each and every client.

When AK isn’t slinging tattoos at the shop, they are constantly getting into something. They find it absolutely impossible to sit still longer than five minutes. They enjoy karaoke and shooting pool every Tuesday at the Essex Street Pub in Buffalo, while also frequenting local pool halls like Hippodrome and Pocketeers. AK has been a long support of the local punk scene in Buffalo and you’d be hard pressed to not find them at a local show. AK first and most intense passion is art, first and foremost. Not only do they draw and tattoo, they also have become a proficient painter, they write and illustration their own comics and graphic novels, as well as participate in local events within the Buffalo arts community.
